‘Make Friends, with a Book’ are friendly and relaxed sessions led by Reader Leader volunteers, who bring poems and stories to life through reading aloud and discussion. They read everything ‘live’, so there is no homework and no pressure! Everyone is welcome, so why not drop in and give it a try? The sessions are every Tuesday.

What happens in a room above a pub ? That is apart from the fine beer and good cheer. In that intimate space possibilities flourish; poetry, comedy and all kinds of music. Come along with ideas or songs or to just enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

Raising money to provide art supplies to local schools in Market Harborough encouraging young people to participate in art early.

Zachary John is an indie folk artist hailing from Market Harborough whose songs blend vocals, acoustic guitar and harmonica. He released his debut EP entitled 'Territory' in June 25 through local record label 'Somewhere Records' inspired by artists such as Bob Dylan, Nick Drake and Elliot Smith.

What a way to start the Fest- our first evening concert promises to be a rip-roarer! The Harborough Big Band hit Great Bowden for a night of swing, jazz and above all, fun! Led by Musical Director Tony Rifugiato the Band's repertoire ranges from the 1940's Big Band sound of Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald through to modern artists including Michael Buble, Robbie Williams and Adele.

Step back into 1996 for a celebration packed with rhythm, nostalgia and virtuosity. This special 30th-birthday concert brings together three of Great Bowden Music Fest’s popular returning musicians, all turning thirty this year, for a programme devoted entirely to music written in the year of their birth.

No stranger to Harborough Blues and already a favourite here, the wonderful and entertaining Sunjay is returning to us with the fabulous singer, Katie Bradley. Katie is an award‑winning blues vocalist and harmonica player known for her soulful depth and stage presence.

After more than 50 years on the road and with 30 albums, an instruction video, a songbook and a DVD to his name, Hans Theessink is a roots and blues institution. With his sonorous baritone voice and unmistakable guitar work, Hans is in great demand as he tours Europe, Britain, North-America, Australia and New Zealand. We welcome him to Harborough Blues all the way from Vienna!

With an interesting and wide range of instruments (Ashley Dow, vocals, acoustic guitar, National and Dobro guitars, Hawaiian guitars, ukulele; Deborah Dow, Harmonica, Washboard, other percussion and vocals) they play an array of American music from the 1920s, 30s and 40s encompassing different styles of Country, Blues, Ragtime Blues, Mississippi Blues and their own compositions.

Twists of roots, blues and psychedelia, in a vibe that lies firmly with the 60s spirit of free music. Liz Jones & Broken Windows sound only like themselves, but have been compared to Little Feat, The Faces and Fleetwood Mac. Live shows are a wild mix of personal expression, genre celebration and individual musicianship.
