Events for our September Celebration and beyond

Visiting us on their UK tour, Max (Acoustic guitar) and Veronica (washboard, ukulele, kazoo, vocals) are armed with nothing but their raw, soulful voices and a handful of acoustic instruments. This captivating duo has crafted an extraordinary repertoire encompassing the rich tapestry of American Roots music. Individually esteemed artists, they join forces to create a truly exceptional musical experience.

Rehearsals start on Friday 5th/Saturday 6th September for our concert at Leicester Cathedral on Saturday 1st November.

Carol Marsden has been raising funds for the PROSTaid charity over a number of years. To achieve this she has sledded huskies across Lapland, trekked in the Sahara, skydived and appeared on Bargain Hunt and The Chase, to name but a few of her adventures. The presentation will highlight the highs and lows of some of these endeavours. New members welcome.

As part of Creative Harborough's month-long Celebration programme, the Market Harborough Story Centre are joining us to present an evening of words and music by local artists, featuring original stories, poems, songs and a short play.

Harborough Theatre is holding an Open Day on Saturday 13th September. Join us between 10am and 4pm to find out about what goes on behind the scenes.

Over two hours of traditional and modern tango music, a beautiful dance floor and tea! Come along on Saturday afternoon for a relaxed práctica in the heart of Market Harborough and close to the historic Angel Street. This event includes a live session by Orquesta Atipica Eco-Tango.

Harborough Cinema will be presenting a question and answer event with film and theatre actress Posy Sterling, following the screening of her film Lollipop at Harborough Theatre on 14th September. The event, hosted by MaHa Magazine Editor and Publisher, Gemma Barder, will begin at 7pm and run for around 45 minutes following the end of the film.

We are super excited to announce this limited edition collaboration with Mr Fizz, Duncan Murray Wines - a great value evening of fun and joy to share with friends. Be transported to the Mediterranean with a selection of wines and nibbles to taste under the expert guidance of Duncan while you paint a ceramic wine cooler - all tools and guided instructions included.

Come and visit us to explore a showcase of our students’ creations, see works in progress, and enjoy a behind-the-scenes studio tour. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the creative process up close, meet our community of makers, and be inspired by the world of pottery.

Parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. It's 5k and takes place every Saturday morning in Welland Park. If you would like to have a go, or simply find out what it’s all about, join us outside The Cafe in Welland Park. This will take place as usual in the Methodist Church where our very own ‘Movie Group’ will present a film about ‘The Millennium Tapestry’ in celebration of its 25th Anniversary. Entertainment will also be provided by the ‘Ladies Choir’. Don’t worry, there should still be time for refreshments and a chat. Room limited, so members only that day, although new members can visit the Coffee Lounge and join HWu3a.

In partnership with Leicester Croquet Club, four one hour sessions will be held at 11am, 12pm, 1.40pm and 2.40pm at the former Grass Tennis Courts, Welland Park. We are looking for HELPERS and PLAYERS.
